The Postcard Story

Alpine Pond, ancient bristlecone pines, and a stop at North View Overlook bring my Cedar Breaks series to Part 3. Postcard #59 keeps these high-country discoveries together as a memory of the journey.

Watch all three parts: Scenic Drive · #57, Supreme Viewpoint · #58, and Alpine Pond · #59.

Plan Your Cedar Breaks Scenic Drive

Elevation: Cedar Breaks sits above 10,000 feet near Cedar City, Utah. Best season: Summer offers wildflowers and access to the high country; snow affects road access in the colder months. Check NPS road and seasonal conditions before setting out.

How long to allow: For a relaxed visit, I suggest setting aside a few hours for the drive and viewpoint stops, with extra time if you plan to hike. This is a planning suggestion, rather than a timed driving route. Find approach routes on the NPS directions page.
